Well, the debates WERE on. At least KLFY TV10 has tried to put on a debate, and tried very hard. But Charles Boustany is refusing to participate in any real televised debates. KLFY TV tried to put on the debates and had set a preliminary date for the hosting, but Charles Boustany said he was too busy. They tried to move the debate to other dates, but Charles Boustany said he was too busy. As of Friday, October 3, according to Dwight Dugas from KLFY, Charles Boustany was offered to pick a date and time of HIS OWN CHOOSING, but has yet to respond.
Apparently, Charles Boustany's choice, in a cowardly fashion, is to NOT debate Don Cravins, Jr. and myself in a televised environment. Unfortunately, Mr. Dugas has also indicated that KLFY will NOT host a televised debate without Charlie's participation. His explanation was that FCC regulations would pose problems without the attendance of Charlie. This is incorrect, however, since Charles Boustany is refusing to attend. FCC regulations only require that all candidates be offered an equal opportunity, and Charles Boustany WAS offered the equal opportunity.
Obviously, Lord Boustany feels that YOU don't deserve an explanation of his past lack of leadership and representation. Charles Boustany doesn't believe YOU deserve an explanation of why he voted to give away over 700 BILLION of your hard earned dollars to a corrupt banking industry. Charles Boustany believes that you don't deserve an explanation of why he endorsed Rudy Giuliani (Pro Abortion Presidential candidate) while pretending to be Pro-Life. Charles Boustany believes that you deserve nothing except to continue paying him $169,300 for doing NOTHING!. Charles Boustany believes that you deserve nothing except to bail-out corrupt banks. Charles Boustany believes that his service to the 7th District should be take-and-take, with him taking and you and I giving. His almost 4 years of abdication of his duties is obvious and he will do anything possible to shield your ability to see and understand his grotesque behavior. His fear of a debate setting where he has no control over questions asked or the responses of the other candidates only serves to prove his lack of confidence in his own record. He wishes to again purchase his re-election with his over one-million dollar coffer, just like he tried to buy a British Lordship title. Charles Boustany has gotten the ring, and we have gotten the finger. On November 4th, we need to take back the ring and give Boustany the finger, and take back our District.
Please call Dwight Dugas at KLFY (337-262-0800) and let them know that you still wish to see a debate ... even if coward Charles Boustany is afraid to participate. You deserve better. At least, you deserve to have a choice.
